ACHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This means that it receives some of its funds from the federal government in order to provide low cost health care to low-income people. This does not mean that ACHC is a free clinic. The federal government expects us to charge for services. Any insurance will be billed. However, charges for low income patients are reduced based on income and family size. Those who fall at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Level pay only $25 per visit for medical or $35 for dental services. Persons between 100% and 200% of the federal poverty level have a lesser discount. To see if you and your family qualify for reduced fees bring the past 3 months pay stubs or the most recent tax return when registering as patients. This information must be updated annually to continue to qualify.
